Cycling

Cycling can be one of the most rewarding forms of cardio and one of the best ways to burn calories whether you are in the gym or at home.

If you like Cycling whether indoors or outdoors there are some things to keep in mind:

Thought
It’s possible to burn between 200 and 700 calories cycling for 30 minutes. The number of calories burned will depend on some other factors, namely your body weight, your pedal speed, and the intensity of your workout.

For Example:

300 calories for a 120-125 pound individual
400 calories for a 150-155 pound individual
500 calories for a 180-185 pound individual

Again, the number of calories being burned will depend on some of the above factors

HITT

The word on the street is that HITT is the way to go when you want to burn a lot of calories in the least amount of time, but there are a few things to consider. HITT has huge popularity for as you guessed it a lot of calorie burn in a short amount of time but some studies have found that doing too much HITT (think every day) for longer than 30 minutes could actually work against what you're trying to achieve.

That said if you really enjoy HITT performing a HITT Workout 2 to 3 times a week in addition to other forms of exercise can help you to burn up to 400 calories for 30 minutes. HITT Workouts can include jumping, sprinting, and drills to mention only a few.

Standard HITT

5-7 exercises performed at max effort for 30-60 seconds with 20-30 second rest periods and usually performed for 3 rounds for beginners and 4 - 5 rounds for advanced.

Always remember to hydrate really well before a HITT and ensure to eat a light snack, so that you have energy but not so much that you feel sick or nauseous while performing the HITT.

All Movement Counts!

The recommended amount of physical activity is 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity and strength training or exercise that works for all muscle groups 2 times a week or more.

All movement counts towards calorie burning and fat burning 🔥- walking to the store, carrying groceries, getting up and down to do for example laundry.

If your fitness goal is to lose weight and you are a beginner or maybe you just reset your fitness goals, weight loss takes time and cannot be done in a day nor can you spot reduce fat. Planning a regular routine, eating healthy, and moving daily is your key to easily sustainable weight loss.

It’s really important to remember that any fitness journey and fitness goals that you have set for yourself will take time but it’s worth the wait starting your fitness journey with a solid foundation will help you reap the rewards long-term. You will look and feel great!
