But if you want to achieve your fitness goals and reach your goals quicker maybe even exceed your goals then you need to EAT.
Why Its Important To Eat
Eating means you will have Energy to achieve your fitness goals and exercise with the confidence that you can do it. If some of us were to look back on attempts we have made to get fit by dieting we have a much clearer picture of what works and what doesn’t when it comes to dieting and exercise. By eating and eating healthy you will be able to increase and maximize all of your fitness goals and achieve the best results every time you work out and take another step forward on your fitness journey.
Eating can help too:
Give you energy
Helps you to have a better workout
Improves your mental focus
Helps you to perform and recover before & after a workout
Eating before a workout will help your body prepare for your workout and recovery in addition to providing all the important and necessary nutrients that your body will need to achieve the goals you have planned out.
If you don’t eat anything before a workout you probably will not reach those fitness goals and achieve very little during your workout. Think of eating like this - imagine deciding to take a road trip and not putting any gas in the car before you go, you probably won’t end up getting very far on your trip.
What To Eat Before A Workout
Eating before a workout doesn’t have to be difficult or elaborate but it has to have sustenance. Consider foods that provide energy. Proteins, Fats, and Carbs. Foods that will help you during that last lift or last five minutes on the treadmill.

Tips For Eating Before A Workout
Regardless, of what kind of workout awaits you at the gym or at home there are some things to keep in mind.
Drink water in the morning at least 1 8oz glass before coffee, breakfast, & supplements - we lose a lot of water while we sleep Replenish!
Make it a habit to eat within your first hour of getting up in the morning - you haven’t eaten since the night before and your body is ready to receive all those good nutrients
Don’t get elaborate with food - Remember the saying less is more well it’s true with food
Do take your vitamins | supplements eg. Pre-Workout after you have eaten
Pre-Workout should be taken a minimum of 30 minutes before going to the gym - give your body some time to absorb the pre-workout and time for it to work
As a trainer, if there is one thing I can tell anyone who is looking to start their fitness journey it’s to Eat. Its easy to get caught up with dieting and calorie restriction when reading and browsing social media, but engaging in poor eating habits and then expecting your body to do a serious workout and perform is not a good way to start, and more often than not any results that are achieved short-term don’t generally last long-term in fact short-term gains with respect to weight loss will often be lost within the first two years.
It’s really important to remember that any fitness journey and fitness goals that you have set for yourself will take time but it’s worth the wait starting your fitness journey with a solid foundation will help you reap the rewards long-term. You will look and feel great!
