4 Tips for Coping With Stress During The Holidays
The holiday season is a wonderful time of year, but it can also be a very stressful time. Here are four tips for coping with stress during the holiday season that are simple + easy and best of all don’t cost anything.
Tip #1: Stay Consistent With Fitness.
It can be tempting to overindulge during the holidays, but try to Stay Consistent when it comes to your fitness routine. Maintaining your regular workout schedule and being aware of your nutrition during the holidays, can help to reduce the amount of stress you feel.
Tip #2: Make Time For Yourself.
It's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holidays, but it's important to take some time for yourself. Do something you enjoy every day, even if it's just for a few minutes. This can be anything from Reading, Exercising, or Writing or maybe just spending some time in silence every morning with your cup of coffee. Making time for yourself every day will help you to feel clear and ready to take on the day.
Tip #3: Take A Break From Tech.
Technology is a great thing, but sometimes too much of a good thing is a bad thing. If you're really feeling the holiday crunch and need some downtime consider turning off your tech, even if it’s only for an hour. Stepping away from technology like your phone or tablet even if it’s just for an hour can help to relieve overwhelming feelings and thoughts and allow you to regroup and collect your thoughts.
Tip #4: Get The Kids To Do It.
If you're a Mom and you need some help look no further than the little helpers who are around all the time…Yes, your kids! If you need help getting the smaller (safer) things checked off your To-Do List then consider enlisting your kids as helpers, having your kids give you a hand not only helps you get things done but also allows them to feel included and needed + it gives your kids a sense of accomplishment.
While the holidays aren’t going to slow down, you can by incorporating some of the above tips and making time for yourself. If you have other tips or suggestions you would like to share please leave them in the comments below.
