Build A Stronger Core

Strengthening your core is something that should be at the top of everybody’s Fitness To-Do List

The Core or the muscles of the trunk help to stabilize the spine | pelvis | shoulders

Core Muscles help improve:

  • Balance | Stability

  • Make it easier to do physical activities

  • Help to tone abs

  • Reach your fitness goals

By doing the right Core Exercises you can achieve a lot when it comes to your fitness.

Here is a short list of exercises to consider if you want to Build A Stronger Core

1 —

Planks

  • Rest your forearms on the floor, with your elbows directly underneath your shoulders and hands facing forward so that your arms are parallel

  • Maintain a neutral spine throughout the movement remember to balance your weight on the balls of the feet and elbows

  • Ensure there is no arching in the lower spine then hold the position for 10, 20, 30 seconds, or more

2 —

Side Planks

  • Lie on your left side first with your knees straight

  • Lift your body and place your weight on the left forearm and elbow

  • Raise your hips until your body is in a straight line

  • Hold the position like the Plank for 10, 20, 30 seconds, or more

3 —

Leg Raises

  • Lying face up with legs extended and hands at your sides

  • Begin raising your legs keeping them together and straight until the soles of your shoes are facing the ceiling

  • Begin lowering your legs back toward the ground and when you are just about to rest your legs on the ground STOP and begin raising them again (slowly)

  • Do 3 sets x 10 to 15 reps
    (the number of repetitions should be the number that you do while maintaining good form)
